We went down to the beach for the photo shoot today. It was sunny and warm but extremely windy, and was very tough for all of us. We shot many beautiful images while being splashed with sea salt and sands. Our team is getting better at bringing the imagination into reality.
These days I feel that your sense of beauty and imagination are the most critical factors in creativity. Our creation cannot exceed what we can imagine the end game would be. In that sense, how good is your fantasy is what matters. I hope I will be better at it.
台風の直撃され延期になっていた次号の撮影、今日敢行してまいりました。台風を思わせる強風のなか、塩を浴び砂に打たれ、修羅場的現場を共にくぐり抜けてきた仲間たちとともに、素晴らしい写真を撮ってきました。今回の号はまた、自分のなかに作り上げたいイメージがありました。イメージするチカラも、それをカタチにする力も、回を重ねるごとに付いてきている気がします。
写真を撮るようになり、雑誌を作るようになって分かったこと。
綺麗な写真が撮れるのは美しいものがあるからではなくて、美しいと感じる心があるから。そして良い画を作るのはすべて、イマジネーションだということ。人間がイメージできるものはたいてい努力次第で作れるので（残念ながらタイムマシンは除く）、イメージの質が一番大事なのだと思います。これを鍛えていきたいというのが、自分の今の課題かな。そして、もっともっと良い雑誌を作りたい。
