It’s been a while since I wrote about knitting, but I do, of course, constantly knit.  I just finished two of my problematic projects and I just had to tell the world about them.

Yarn: Misti Alpaca Chunky Solid in Silver Melange 5.5 skeins

Needles: 6.5mm and 8mm circular needles

The moment I saw the design, I really had to make it.  Ordered the yarn, and instantly started.  There are not much changes, but I knitted it in the round up to the armholes with smaller needles (6.5mm) instead of 8mm.  I switched to 8mm when I knitted the turtle neck.  I shortened the neck somewhat, for it was getting way too long.  I think it is still too long, because the yarn is much softer and more drapery than the original yarn.

I kind of like how it turned out, but it sheds alpaca fiber like crazy.  I am blocking in warm water now.

Yarn: Twinkle Soft Chunky in Clover, approx 4 skeins (or more?)

Needles: 10mm circular needles throughout

I am so happy to get this off my needles! Finally!  Like I said a while ago on this blog, I cultivated this yarn from other cardigan I made, so I had to make something better than what it used to be.  Think I succeeded!   I am not sure if I am going to wear it outside, but at least it’s very warm and comfy, perfect for the coldest winter.

Mods:  The pattern is for a coat, but I made a jacket because I only had 5 skeins, for which I am glad.  It would have been pretty heavy if I used 7 skeins.  I also changed the neckline into shawl collar.  Happy!
