Change of scenery.
My family has rented a house down south by the sea. Technically, we are 20 minutes away from the beach, overlooking a great view.
Friends of mine have started this trial to rent a house by the week for people who want to live in the area. We were very lucky that this week’s slot became available, because someone cancelled at the last minute.
My sister’s family (and their 2 dogs), our mother, and I have moved in last Friday.
景色変わって。
家族で海の近くに家を借りています。海の近くと言っても、厳密には海から２０分ほど、見下ろす山の上にいます。
友人が、鎌倉でのお試し暮らしを可能にするトライアルを始めました。家を１軒、１週間借りれるというもの。年末年始の１週間のスロットを予約していた人が直前になってキャンセルをしたため、私達が借りれることに。
テレビがないからだそうです。
年末年始に実家に帰ると結局テレビ漬けになってしまうのがイヤだった私としては、テレビがないのは願ってもない幸運。普段から殆ど見ていないせいもあるのですが、忙しくてテレビを見る時間もなく、あっという間に１日が終わってしまいます。

朝日が海辺と江ノ島に差してくる様子が窓から見え、
And the evening view… twinkling lights of the houses.
夕方には段々と家々に電気が灯っていくのも楽しい。
It’s easy enough to walk down to the beach. My sister and her family usually lives up on the 20+ floor, so my niece and the dogs are extremely excited to be running around, jumping and rolling on the ground.
海までは下りで２０分。普段高層マンションに住んでいる姪や犬達は、地面を走り回ったりジャンプしたりするのが楽しそうです。
Mt. Fuji is much closer here than you can see from Tokyo. I don’t usually get excited about the mountain, or about any mountain for that matter. But there is something serene and powerful in the whiteness and the blueness, if you see it from this distance.
家から一歩出ると、富士山がすごく綺麗に見えます（高い木に遮られて、家の窓からは見えないのだけど）。いつもは富士山や、山が見えるといっても特に気にも留めないのですが、こんなに近くに見え、そして白と水色のグラデーションが美しくて、なにか清々しくパワフルなものを感じてしまいます。
