The new issue, Spring 2015, of amirisu, may be my most favorite issue among seven. Yes, seven! I can’t believe we’ve published 7 issues already. It has been a great journey for both of us.
The hand knitting / yarn / pattern industry is now at a turning point. The game is changing, and soon, we will see a whole new landscape. I don’t know what that is yet, but I want to be there as amirisu, witness and experience the changes together with Tokuko. I am doing my best to keep the magazine current and relevant… learning, searching, connecting everyday incessantly.

On a personal note, I’ve been to Tim Burton exhibition last weekend, and truly enjoyed the show. He is so talented and full of creepy ideas. I want to be like that.
amirisuの新刊、2015年春号がリリースされました。これまでの7号のなかで一番のお気に入りかもしれません。いつも言っている気がするけど、毎回全力投球で作っています。絶対に前号より良いものを作ろうと努力しています。そう、７号！早いものです。これまでの3年、二人で本当に楽しく乗り切ってきました。
ニット、毛糸、パターンのビジネスは今曲がり角に来ています。日本の話をしているのではなくて、グローバルな話。もうすぐ、まったく新しい景色が展開するような気がしています。その新しい舞台にamirisuとして存在していたいし、トクコさんと一緒に変化を目撃し、くぐり抜けていきたいと思っています。雑誌も、時代にあった意味のあるものであり続けられるよう、 自分として日々学び、リサーチし、人脈を作る努力をしています。
また８号でお会いしましょう。
雑誌とは関係ありませんが、週末にやっとティム・バートン展を見ることができました。本当によかった！バートン監督のように、歳や作品を重ねても薄気味悪いアイデアが次々と湧いてくるようでいたい。
