The book I translated into Japanese has just come out a few days ago.  I haven’t seen the actual book yet, because I am traveling. This is something I look forward to after returning home.

The book is a collection of quotes from famous architects.  There is one quote per page, and the left and the right pages are in pairs, sometimes contradicting each others, sometimes saying the same things even though the architects are from different times / locations / cultures.

It’s an inspirational book if you are into design or architecture.

翻訳したよ、と言っていた本が数日前に出版されました。翻訳してから半年くらい経っているので、もう中身はうろ覚え。

今旅行中でまだ実物を見ていないので、帰宅するのが楽しみです。

この本は有名建築家の名言を集めた本で、１ページに１つの言葉。見開きの左右が対になって、反対のことを言っていたり、時には時代や文化を超えて同じ問題に悩んでいたりします。建築家の思考の深さを伺え、翻訳していてとても面白かったです。デザインや建築に興味がある方には是非オススメです。
